Tired of dull, artificial and unsustainable ice cream, Auckland farmer Matiu Taylor created a unique range of ice creams on his farm. Taylor is now Auckland's ice cream aficionado using only organic and sustainable ingredients.

Brief
Now ready to enter the market, Taylor needed a brand and packaging to capture the attention of sweet tooths with discerning tastes who prefer local and sustainable products.
Approach
Looking at local and international brands, often utilising product photography or illustration, a more minimalist approach would be taken to set Only Auckland apart on the shelves.
Ideation
I focused on exploring confident type, strong hierarchy and characterful messaging that packed a punch in as few words as possible.
Approach
Inspired by contemporary Auckland's bold and confident swagger, I left the usual local or Kiwi references aside. Instead, I focused on confident and characterful typography paired with an audacious, earnest and yet charming tone of voice and a simplified organic inspired colour palette.
